The SHIMANO GRX Series all comes done to one final championship race. This year the series action wraps up in Longmont at Sandstone Ranch. This venue might seem flat on paper, but looks can be deceiving. Get ready for sand, smooth grass, even more off-camber grass, and twisting turning fun on the sloping hillsides of this soccer complex. This is also a Colorado Cross Cup race.
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RULES & ELIGIBILITY
1. Must have a valid USAC Annual License 2. Must be a USA Citizen or Permanent Resident 3. USAC License must show your state as COLORADO.
Racers NOT Eligible: 1. USAC Annual racers whose license does not say Colorado 2. USAC 1-Day licensees 3. Members of UCI road teams
REGISTRATION & EVENT INFORMATION
PRE-REGISTRATION: Available 8/1 and closes Wednesday 12/1 at 11:59pm [ADULTS: $45, Juniors 9-12: $25, Juniors 13-18: $30]
RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Cash only - NO Credit Cards or Checks. Opens at 6:30am on-site and closes 40min prior to the start of your category [ADULTS: $50, Juniors 9-12: $30, Juniors 13-18: $35]
Chip Timing: This will be a chip timed event. Please make sure to pick up your timing chip when you pick up your race number. You'll return your timing chip right after you cross the finish line to our race volunteers or staff, an unreturned chip will incur a $75 replacement fee. No CHIP = relegated to last place
CYCLO-X Series Points: This race has a point rating of 1.5x (boosted points)
Call-ups: Based on USA Cycling rankings
"Color rush” start is designed to amplify the start-line adrenaline, align racers of the same ability and speed, and reduce lapping.
1) You will receive a newly designed and very bright color number based on your category. This will identify who’s in your specific category.
2) We will call up all athletes in your wave into the start grid based on USA Cycling Rankings. Then one whistle blast will send off the entire wave!
3) Results and awards will all be based on your unique category. Awards go 3 deep in each category.
USA CYCLING LICENSE & RACE RULES
USA Cycling License Required: USAC 1-Day Beginner license: $15, only for Cat 5 Men, Cat 5 Women and Jrs who have never held a USA Cycling License. Annual USA Cycling licenses available online at www.usacycling.org
DIRECTIONS & PARKING INFORMATION
Venue Location: Sandstone Ranch Park 2525 E. Ken Pratt Blvd/119, Longmont CO
Denver: 25 N. to exit 240 (CO-119W), Left at end of ramp onto CO-119 heading West. Stay on 119 for approx. a mile and Sandstone Park will be on your left hand side.
Boulder: Diagonal Hwy NE from Boulder towards Longmont, drive through Longmont and before hitting I-25 you'll see Sandstone Park on your right hand side
Parking: Main parking lot at Sandstone Park Ranch
